Kick the Cat at Martyrs'

I am so excited for this one, Chicago. My jazz-fusion band, Kick the Cat is back and better than ever for a party at Martyrs’ (3855 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL 60613) on Wednesday, August 7. You do not want to miss this!

Kick The Cat features Chris Siebold, Vijay Tellis-Nayak, Chris Clemente and myself. Kick the Cat is Chicago's most highly acclaimed fusion ensemble. Since forming in 1996, Kick the Cat has been wowing audiences with their high energy shows. Their compositions are grounded in the traditions of jazz, rock, and funk and feature complex harmony, odd time signatures, and extended improvisations. The group's spontaneity and uncanny communication make each of their live performances a unique adventure in interactive music-making.

We’ve got a killer lineup, with Dan Bitney & Leroy Bach warming things up.

Dan Bitney works within avant-garde electronic, rock and improvisational groups, most notably Tortoise, Isotope 217 and Spectralina. LeRoy Bach is a Grammy-winning artist, former member of Wilco, and former member of the Black Monks of Mississippi with Theaster Gates. With their Roland 303 bass monster, Dan and LeRoy perform rockin, swingin, catchy tunes, backed up with plentiful improvisations.

One Punch Aftershow

We’re back! Mike Gantzer, Ryan Stasik and myself are back together for a night of ass-kicking punk rock as One Punch! Join us at Honkey Tonk Central on (329 Broadway, 2nd floor, Nashville, TN) after the Umphrey’s McGee show at The Ryman. We’re going to be playing an assortment of high-energy, in your face tunes that are guaranteed to keep the party going.

Tickets are $20 at the door, because that’s punk rock
